Competition time: Target Windows celebrates 35th anniversary

Target Windows is celebrating 35 years in business.

The company is running a Facebook competition in March, where anyone living at a property with a combination of 3 and 5 in their property number can enter. The prize is a luxury M&S hamper worth £100. You can enter here.

The business is also asking people to challenge Target Windows to beat a quote for windows, doors and conservatories.

Company director Guy Basnett said: “We’re so proud of what we have achieved and to mark our 35th anniversary, we will be hosting a celebration event at our Stone showroom on the bank holiday weekend of May 5 and 6. Customers old and new will be invited and full details are being finalised.”

The Meir Heath-based company was established in 1983 by businessman Alan Tune, who manufactured windows for a local double-glazing firm.

But Alan found himself with a factory full of machinery and no customers after the firm he was supplying went out of business.

He opened a small showroom in Radford Street, Stone, where his sister Jane and his wife Sylvia would make appointments for Alan to see customers who required quotes for windows, doors and conservatories.

As demand increased, Jane assisted with sales appointments, and the small showroom was soon outgrown. Target relocated to its current home at The Filleybrooks in Stone and expanded into Uttoxeter.

In 2002, current company director Guy Basnett joined the team, after marrying Jane in 1999. His experience in sales opened up the commercial market. Alan’s brother Mick is also part of the management team and has many years of experience in the industry. The family business has gone from strength to strength.

Mr Basnett said: “It’s a very exciting time for Target. We are now focusing on securing commercial contracts throughout the UK on new build sites, schools, animal re-homing projects and refurbishment projects.

“Many new products are set to be introduced to the existing range as the domestic market continues to evolve, to meet the demand of our many clients wanting to maximise their living space.”

Record number of fabricators switch to Optima windows

Profile 22, the manufacturer of Optima windows, has reported a rapid increase in the brand’s popularity among fabricators.

Staffordshire-based Target Windows partnered with Profile 22 – the UK’s leading manufacturer of PVC-U window systems – earlier this year, and now offers the entire Optima range.

The announcement that a record number of fabricators have been switching to Optima in recent months demonstrates that not only are more fabricators choosing it, they’re also convinced that the single system can deliver everything they need.

Gerald Allen, Profile 22’s Marketing Manager, said: “It’s testament to the package of benefits Optima offers that most of the fabricators who have switched to us since we launched the system in 2016 have chosen to single source.”

Mr Allen credited three factors for fabricators’ confidence in Optima: the system itself, the ease of switchover and the support that’s available.

Optima is an advanced high-performance system, available in sculptured and chamfered variants. It incorporates features that rival systems don’t, and doesn’t use gimmicks or quick fixes.

The range is complete, fully integrated and its thermal performance of up to A++ is outstanding. It has revolutionised the PVC-U windows market since its launch, with its exceptional performance in energy efficiency, weather protection and security.

Target Windows stocks the full range in its Uttoxeter and Stone showrooms. Thanks to the adaptable design, both contemporary and period-styled houses can benefit from the modern technology.
